Ilsa Sharp

Ilsa Sharp is a British-born Australian freelance writer and Chinese Studies graduate, formerly based in Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong from 1968 to 1998. She is a former staff editor and writer for The Straits Times of Singapore and for the Far Eastern Economic Review of Hong Kong and has been a correspondent for international publi­cations such as the Financial Times, The Daily Telegraph of London and the Melbourne Herald of Australia. Ilsa now commutes regularly between her Perth base in Western Australia and South­east Asia, on writing assignments. She is the author of some 20 books on the history, culture and natural history and wildlife of Singapore and the Asia-Pacific region, the majority of them commissioned.
